If you've never been to Europe, or if you haven't been to Europe in the last 5 years or so, you might be surprised at how inexpensive it can be to take a budget flight. For example, a few years ago, I needed to get from Munich to Brussels, and found it was far faster and less expensive to fly than to take the train.
Probably the best way to find budget flights to Europe is to use a "meta-search engine," that is, a website that searches multiple websites for the cheapest fare. I generally use a site called Mobissimo (http://mobissimo.com), but that is by no means the only one out there.
UPDATE: For a very good tool to determine which budget airlines fly where, take a look at the website www.flycheapo.com, which provides a comprehensive list of budget airline routes by destination and airline.
When taking budget flights, be aware that "cheap seats" will sell out early, so try to book as early as is practical. On the other hand, budget tickets are generally non-refundable, so don't book until your plans are firm. Also keep in mind that there can be significant weight restrictions for both your checked and carry-on luggage, with substantial charges for overweight luggage. Be sure to read the fine print on your ticket before purchasing. Finally, be aware that some budget flights will go to/from remote airports. For example, some flights to "Brussels" realy fly to Charleroi (CRL); some flights to "Frankfurt" really fly into Hahn (HHN); and some flights to "Oslo" really fly into Sandefjord (TRF).
Bottom line: Do your homework and know what you're buying. Then go forth and save lots of money!

For your vacation in or closeby Luzern / Lucerne I can highly recommed you to buy the so-called "Tell-Ticket" in order to save some money, when you stay in Luzern / Lucerne for more than 3 days and intend to go to Pilatus, Rigi, Buergenstock & to take the ships and trains around the lake Lucerne ! The ticket is available eighter for 7 or for 15 consucutive days and it includes 2 or 5 days of totally FREE rides and the rest of the days you pay just 50% of the ordinary tickets.
Totally included in this ticket are the rides to Rigi Kulm + Buergenstock + Pilatus + the ships on Lake of Lucerne / Viewaldstaetter See and most trains around of that area, the trains to Engelberg & Truebsee, to Meiringen-Brienz-Interlaken etc.etc.etc.

For the Tell-Pass you pay just 140 sfr (95euros) for 7 days or 188 sfr (122 euro) for 15 days and everyday in the morning you will have to decide for yourself, if you choose that day as one of the 2 / 5 days with the free rides. Regionalpass Berner Oberland was MY favorite train-pass because I wanted to see much more of the area around Brienz, Interlaken and Meiringen than is included in the Jungfraubahnen-pass.
In case that you are lucky with perfect weather and stay for at least 3 days in the area around Brienzersee & Thunersee , it really makes sense to buy the "Regionalpass Berner Oberland" :
This train-pass is valid 7 (220,-sfr) or 15 days (265,-sfr) and during 3 of these 7 or 5 of these 15 days you may use that ticket for unlimited travels, only for a tour to Jungfraujoch you pay 50 sfr extra and for Schilthorn 30 sfr extra - the Brienz Rothorn is totally included !!
The tickets are for 7/15 consecutive days, BUT you may choose any 3 (or 5) days of unlimited travels by yourself - you simply stamp your ticket at any trainstation into a machine on these days.
During the rest of the days you pay half of the ordinary prices.
This ticket includes also all of the trains and ships on and around Brienzersee and Thunersee, trains till Brig, Lenk i.S., Adelboden, Meiringen, Gstaad and halfprice all days to Zermatt, Luzern, Bern etc...
I had such a ticket with 7 days and could save a lot of money, although I had only 3 days with excellent weather-conditions !!.

Switzerland has a perfect but also quite expensive system of trains,cablecars and funiculars, so it certainly makes sense to seach for some cheaper train-passes and Jungfraubahnenpass is one of them. Of course it all will depend on the duration of your stay and also on a good weather-forecast and on the trains you are planning to use :
Jungfraubahnen-pass is a special pre-paid train-ticket for 6 consecutive days and it is valid for the whole area between Interlaken Ost and Grosse Scheidegg, Kleine Scheidegg,Maennlichen, Wengen,Muerren,First,Gridelwald, Busalp, Harder Kulm and Schynigge Platte.
You may use all of these trains and buses totally for free for 6 days, only for the train between Kleine Scheidegg and Jungfraujoch you pay 50 sfr extra.
For the Schilthorn you have to pay the full price !! - In case that you intend to go to Schilthorn and/or Brienzer Rothorn as well , I may recommend to buy the "Regionalpass Berner Oberland" instead of Jungfraubahnen-Pass !!

Jungfraubahn is maybe the most spectacular train-line in the world, taking you to the highest train-station in Europe. That is also the reason for extra-high prices and the fact that the tickets will never be included in any Eurail-, Euro-Rail-, Interrail-tickets etc. , there will be ALWAYS be a minimum extra-charge of about 50 sfr (return-ticket). Jungfraubahnen-Pass and Regional-Pass Berner Oberland will give you a reduction of 50%.
Jungfraubahn starts at Kleine Scheidegg and takes you to the "top of Europe" within 55 minutes several times every day of the year. The cheapest ride is the first tour in the morning in summertime.
That Jungfraubahn has 3 stops :
1)Eigergletscher, the only open-air-station
2)Eigerwand - take a look out of giant windows
3)Eismeer -take a look at the glacier
In 1894 Adolf Guyer-Zeller had the idea of building a tunnel through the mountains in order to get from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfrau. In 1896 he started to build the Jungfraubahn and it took 16 years to build it. The final costs were 15.000.000sfr and Guyer-Zeller had the clever idea to include the 2 stations inside the mountain (Eigerwand & Eismeer) simply in order to be able to earn some money already, by taking tourists there, while the rest of the track was not finished yet. I'll double this one and also place it under "transport". Be fair to the system and if, only rate it once.
A very serious word for travellers who fly into Europe from a non-EU country and change planes in a European country; e.g. coming from Singapore, change planes in Frankfurt to go to anywhere (EU and non-EU).
Since November 2006, Europe is hysterial about the liquids, carried in hand luggage. Well, other countries are as well, but Europe topped it with a speciality about the real liquids, like booze, and also perfumes etc.
Apart from the max. 50 ml of liquids like tootpaste, cream etc, packed in a transparent bag, you are not allowed to take any liquid past security.
This includes water.
You cannot take water, even not a 1 l sealed water bottle, across security.
You can buy a water bottle at any shop past security, but the shop will pack it into their special sealable bags.
You can open the bag between security and entering the plane, if you are thirsty – BUT – you cannot take the opened bag on the plane then.
This is the easy part. You only might loose the 2-3 Euro you have to pay for a simple water bottle.
The difficult part, however, is that you cannot bring booze, perfumes, creams, etc from Duty Free shops outside of the EU and change planes at any EU airport. This, as the non-EU Duty Free shops might not be able to pack your booze into these special sealable bags.
Example:
You take a plane in Singapore, go to Duty Free and buy some bottles of alcohol and perfume. They put it in any bag. You happily fly into Frankfurt, get off the plane and into transit. Security will surly find whatever liquid you bought and confiscate it = take it away from you and will give you no refund.
There is nothing you can do, well, except boycott flying in general.

The Gondola is the best transportation between all the others by water access, as it is the traditional, beautiful, and romantic one, the only thing you have to be ready for is to pay expensively, but I think it is worth an experience especially when you come with your other half!
It is so romantic, look at them happy together on that Gondola crossing the water access in the romantic fascinating Venice.
Don't ever be greedy and say I won't pay that much for a Gondola, you'll regret it after and wish you had pay it, as you won't be in Venice every day!

Metro of Paris is the best and fast cheap way to move around Paris, in most of the cases you have a train in every 5 minutes, I made a little compare between the Metro of Paris and Moscow, well shoulkd say I like the one in Moscow better, it is a real living museum!
but the Paris one was just made for using!
TGV the fast trains in France, the fastest in the World, made in France and made in Japan,
Great comfortable way to travel in France, and even to neighbour countries too, but the prices are always high and exspensive for it,
